Foster Youth Independence Scholarship Program

Since 2009 the Foster Youth Independence scholarship program has provided college scholarships to foster children in Washington state that are aging out of the foster care system. These young adults have graduated from high school and have been accepted into a university or community college.

Each year we open up our scholarship application to any individual that has graduated from high school, aged out of the foster care system and is need of financial assistance to obtain higher education. The application period is open from mid-January to early April. Up to 10 promising individuals are selected for this program each year.

55% of high school age foster children in Washington state dropout and do not get their high school diploma. Our program offers support to those fighting the odds and assistance to help them win against all odds.
